you're not alone...

Introducing a New Contributor to the National Widowers' Organization: Christine Baumgartner, Dating and Relationship Coach

Surviving the Holidays
blank

I don’t think anyone could have prepared me for widowhood with its intense pain, off-and-on guilt, and periods of hopelessness. I was in a new country that I didn’t recognize.

I was already a dating and relationship coach when Tony died, but quickly learned that this didn’t make me exempt from the challenges that come up for everyone who has a spouse die–struggles in the areas of healing, moving forward with life, and potentially dating again.

It’s been six years now, and I’ve learned a lot.  Personally and professionally.  I’ve felt honored to have widows and widowers signing up as clients.  I find them thirsty for help with their loneliness, emotional roadblocks, self-worth, confidence, and readiness for dating.  My personal knowledge in these areas helps us connect and grow together.

Many widowers feel “out of the loop” in today’s dating world, often saying “the rules have changed, and I don’t have the new rule book.”  My clients value the guidance coming from the professional me (who is an experienced coach) and the personal me (I met Tony through online dating).  The services I offer are in the area of coaching (not matchmaking).  To learn more about what that is, visit theperfectcatch.com.

I appreciate the opportunity for the National Widowers’ Organization allowing me to introduce myself to you.  And, I look forward to helping you find answers to your dating and relationship questions as we all navigate this new life.

Yours sincerely
Christine Baumgartner
